Tar Sands
Down the Pipeline of Destruction
Oil spills, dead salmon, global warming
The Enbridge Northern Gateway proposal involves two 1,170-kilometre pipelines, stretching from the Tar Sands near Edmonton to the port of Kitimat, British Columbia. Making this project a reality means
- Pipelines will cut across British Columbia’s salmon watersheds and will carry a huge risk of leaks and spills;
- An end to a long-standing moratorium on oil tanker traffic on BC’s north coast;
- The expansion of the already massive environmental footprint of the Tar Sands.
How do Enbridge’s major pipelines project fit within a new green energy vision? They don’t.
A growing number of people and communities think the risks from the pipelines and tankers are too great. Let's stand with them.
